Serves 2
Ingredients
120 g fresh spinach
150 g fresh strawberries, sliced
40 g feta or goat cheese, crumbled
25 g almonds or pecans, chopped
20 g red onion, very thinly sliced (optional)
30 g balsamic glaze
10 g olive oil
3 g salt
1 g black pepper
Instructions
1
Prep the ingredients: Wash and dry the spinach. Slice the strawberries. Crumble the cheese and chop the nuts.
2
Build the base: Place the spinach in a large bowl so you have room to toss without crushing the leaves.
3
Add toppings: Scatter strawberries, cheese, nuts, and optional red onion evenly over the spinach.
4
Dress the salad: Drizzle olive oil first, then the balsamic glaze. Add salt and pepper.
5
Toss gently: Use your hands or two large spoons to toss lightly so the leaves stay fluffy and coated.
6
Serve: Taste and adjust—add a bit more glaze or cheese if you like. Serve immediately.
Beginner Tips
1. Dry your spinach well
Wet leaves make the dressing slide off. Pat dry or use a salad spinner.
2. Slice strawberries evenly
Thin, even slices mix better and don’t weigh down the greens.
3. Add glaze last
Balsamic glaze is thick — drizzle lightly first, then add more if needed.
4. Toss gently
Spinach bruises easily. Lift and fold rather than stirring aggressively.
5. Balance the flavors
- Too sweet → add more cheese or nuts
- Too tangy → add a tiny drizzle of olive oil
- Too dry → add a bit more glaze
6. Serve immediately
The glaze softens the spinach over time — this salad is best fresh.
